This web site has been designed to show off some of my beautiful cookbooks.
I have been collecting cookbooks for approximately 30 years now. I am a hopeless packrat and collect other things too, but cookbooks are my main interest.
I belong to a Cookbook Collectors Exchange ... and will give the addy for CCE so you can see for yourself what a fine publication it is. Cookbooks are far more popular these days than I had ever imagined. It's fun to search for something unusual and finding a "gem" is exciting.
Most of my family and friends think I am "off my rocker" ... but that's okay ... I can handle that! Everyone enjoys SOMETHING more than someone else ... I don't like cleaning and housework, but I do enjoy sitting down and viewing a vintage cookbook. Soothing to the brain! (That's as good an excuse as any, isn't it?)

This "Kitchen Klatter" cookbook is my pride and joy. I have had a couple other copies of it, but this one belonged to a very dear friend whom I lost nearly two years ago. Her husband came to my home bearing gifts one day ... and this cookbook was in the wooden crate of "keepsakes" from Arlene.
Arlene and I would sit in her living room and look through the big blue cookbook and she would tell me of good recipes ... I especially like cookies ... so she showed me several of her favorites. She said that some day she would sell me that book ... little did I know that not too long after that I would receive that same book from her husband. I don't think Bob actually knew just how much it meant to me ... I cried for days. When I pick it up to look at it ... I cry again.

Kate Smith cookbooks are another favorite!

I admit it ... I have a thing about Kate Smith cookbooks. She has several published with her picture throughout for different companies that advertised on her radio shows.
I also found her biography at a Library Book Sale here in Kansas ... what a treasure!
